Benzinga rated insurance companies in the state in five categories and picked Kin Insurance as Best Overall.

The company is one of the newest in the state and offers comprehensive policies called perfect for Florida’s variable climate.

“You can enroll in a policy in as little as 15 minutes thanks to the company’s quick, simple online application system,” Benzinga reported.

Kin lets homeowners save on their policies by upgrading construction features like tying down the roof and adding storm compliant shutters.

Homeowners can ask for discounts to lower their monthly premiums. These can include security systems, bundling policies such as home and auto, installing smoke detectors, staying claims-free and as Kin Insurance allows, upgrading home construction with storm-resistant measures.

Allstate in Florida reigns as Cheapest Home Insurance, according to Benzinga. The company offers discounts for home security systems, staying claims-free for at least a year and even 25% on your homeowner’s insurance if you add on an auto insurance policy.

Next on the Benzinga list is Best Manufacture Homes coverage, with American Strategic Insurance (ASI) getting the nod. ASI’s policies cover living expenses if your home gets destroyed during a natural disaster. Medical payments coverage is an added benefit that can extend health insurance if you get hurt on your own property.

USAA ranks as Best for Military Families by Benzinga. Affordable policies for active-duty military and veterans include replacement cost coverage and loss-of-use coverage.

The Best for Adjustable Deductibles ranking goes to State Farm, which gives homeowners the option for a higher or lower deductible. Choose higher for lower premiums, or a lower deductible to control costs if you need to file a claim.
