Governor Gavin Newsom has issued emergency proclamations for Trinity and San Joaquin counties. These actions are intended to aid recovery efforts following significant events in each region.
Trinity County was affected by winter storms in December 2024, causing notable damage. The emergency proclamation allows the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services to extend support under the California Disaster Assistance Act.
In San Joaquin County, an emergency proclamation was issued due to the failure of the Victoria Island Levee in October 2024. This also enables assistance from the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services as per the provisions of the California Disaster Assistance Act.
