Juan Cornejo Chief Counsel and Deputy Director of the Legal Affairs Division | State of California DMV
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced the reopening of its Eureka office at a new location. The office will open its doors on June 4 at 2500 6th St., following the closure of the previous site at Bayshore Mall on May 16.
The new facility offers an expanded space of 10,858 square feet, significantly larger than the former location's 4,832 square feet. The move away from the mall allows for more dedicated parking and increased outdoor space for vehicle inspections.
In an effort to streamline services, the DMV is encouraging customers to utilize online resources for many tasks that do not require an in-person visit. These digital services include self-service transactions and renewals for driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations. Customers can also access a Service Advisor on the DMV website to explore their options for completing various tasks.
To receive paperless renewal notices, customers are advised to create a secure online account and register at dmv.ca.gov.
