The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced the relocation of its Woodland office. The current location at 825 East St. will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 31. Operations will resume at a new site located at 1224 E. Gibson Road, opening its doors to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 18.

The new facility is larger by 800 square feet compared to the existing office and aims to enhance service delivery for all customers, including those with disabilities. It features a renovated building with updated amenities and increased parking availability.

During the transition period, customers are advised to visit nearby DMV offices in Davis, Sacramento Broadway, Vacaville, or Sacramento La Mancha for their needs.

In addition to physical visits, the DMV emphasizes its online services as a convenient alternative for completing most transactions. "Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit," the department notes, encouraging users to explore digital options for tasks such as driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals.

Customers interested in receiving paperless renewal notices can sign up by creating a secure online account on the DMV website and opting in for this service.
