Tesla's new humanoid robot, the Tesla Optimus Robot, has made its video debut inside a $6.85 million home in Los Angeles' Mandeville Canyon. The launch video, which premiered on October 11, showcases the robot performing household tasks such as cleaning and watering plants within the property.
The filming took place at 2167 Mandeville Canyon Rd., a five-bedroom residence listed by Jason Peteler of Revel Real Estate. This marks the first instance of Tesla's humanoid robot being filmed inside a home.
The video has gained significant attention online, with over 9 million views on X and 1.5 million views on YouTube. "It's sort of a balance between a more modern style of the property, and they thought it would blend well with their robot and their look for that particular scene," Peteler told The Post.
The house features polished marble finishes, an expansive swimming pool, and a secluded location that aligns with Tesla's futuristic vision. "To have robots in the near future taking care of things, and this is the first home that has ever had them functioning inside… it is pretty cool. I was definitely stoked about that," Peteler added.
In addition to household chores, the video shows Optimus unloading groceries and playing games with children in the home's living areas. While Tesla kept details under wraps until the reveal, Peteler mentioned that they rented the home for several days for filming purposes. "We didn’t even know what they were shooting," he said. "They were very secretive."
Known as "La Reserve," the estate is secured behind 10-foot gates and includes elegant public spaces, a Rosso Levanto marble kitchen island, and a primary suite with separate vanities.
Peteler considers this collaboration with Tesla as unique: "Tesla could probably rent any house that they want in Los Angeles," he said, "but they chose this one."
