A recent report by B2B Reviews highlights the top ten states offering the best work-life balance. The study evaluated states based on various factors, including commute times, average weekly hours, wages, and maternity leave policies. The findings come at a time when many Americans are re-evaluating their work priorities with a focus on remote working options and self-care.
"Work-life balance is a common topic that comes up in both therapy and coaching," said Aisha Kamala, a licensed clinical social worker from Chico, CA. "I do believe it’s becoming more important, and workers are realizing that their mental health, happiness, and stress levels are even more important than a paycheck."
Minnesota leads the list with an average commute of 23.3 minutes and average weekly earnings of $1,249.19. Colorado follows closely with paid maternity leave of 12 weeks and a high percentage of remote workers at 19.9%. Other states featured include Wisconsin, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, Montana, Nebraska, Maryland, and South Dakota.
The rankings also consider median home prices to provide insight into the cost of living in these areas.
