The Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I) announced on May 4 that its legal system abuse awareness campaign in Georgia has received an Honorable Mention from the Hermes Creative Awards in both the Advertising Campaign and Outdoor/Out-of-Home Advertising Campaign categories.

The recognition highlights efforts by Triple-I to address issues related to lawsuit abuse, which it says contribute to higher insurance premiums and increased consumer costs. The campaign aimed to inform the public and lawmakers about these impacts and encourage legislative action.

Key elements of the campaign included a visual infographic illustrating how lawsuit abuse affects costs, a Facebook ad petition urging support for Governor Brian Kemp’s tort reform package, and billboards placed around the Georgia State Capitol and Downtown Atlanta. Triple-I CEO Sean Kevelighan said, “Our Georgia awareness campaign played an important role in the General Assembly’s passage of significant tort legislation reform in 2025. We were able to inform stakeholders about the impacts of legal system abuse in the Peach State and why reform was necessary to help lower the costs of home, auto and business insurance.”

According to Triple-I, its efforts contributed to legislative success as comprehensive legal reforms passed both chambers of Georgia’s General Assembly before being signed into law by Governor Kemp. The digital component achieved nearly a 15% click-through rate—well above industry averages—with over 20,000 clicks from more than 986,000 impressions. The letter-writing drive resulted in over 440 messages sent by newly recruited advocates supporting tort reform.

The Hermes Creative Awards are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) and recognize creative work across various platforms. Entries are judged on their own merits using a consensus-based scoring system with Honorable Mention awarded for scores between 70–79 points.

Triple-I supports stakeholders including consumers, media, and policymakers by providing resources in English and Spanish according to its official website. It established ties with The Institutes in November 2020 according to its official website and represents more than 50 insurance company members worldwide according to its official website. The organization aims to provide data-driven insights on risk management according to its official website, is recognized as a leading online source for insurance information according to its official website, and hosts events that advance understanding within the field according to its official website.
