Superior HealthPlan, a managed care organization in Texas and part of Centene Corporation, has released its sixth annual community investment report for 2025. The report highlights Superior’s work with 832 partners and participation in over 2,100 events and presentations across the state. In total, the company contributed nearly $1.2 million to organizations based in Texas through grants, sponsorships, and other funding.
“Superior has always been committed to uplifting local communities by finding meaningful ways to support Texans when they need it most,” said Mitch Wasden, President and CEO of Superior HealthPlan. “Our work last year is an extension of what we’ve been doing for decades – working together with thousands of partners and providers to truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve.”
The report details several key initiatives from 2025:
– Superior partnered with Community Health Development, Inc. in Uvalde to help open a new $16 million multi-purpose community health center aimed at improving access to care for local families.
– The company collaborated with the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the Strong Youth Strong Communities program, hosting 1,000 students at AT&T Stadium in Arlington for events focused on mental health skills.
– Superior funded hygiene closets providing personal care items in more than 30 communities statewide; since 2020, this initiative has received over $850,000 from the company.
– Annual grants totaling $200,000 were provided to healthcare providers and nonprofit organizations so they could expand services or introduce new programs.
Superior HealthPlan serves about two million people throughout Texas and employs around 3,600 individuals across all counties. Since 2020, it has contributed $12.3 million through various forms of giving to support low-income communities.
