Nicholas Jordan, a veteran and founder of Jordan Towing LLC, learned about the Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) Surplus Property Program while seeking opportunities for veteran-owned businesses in the state. After enrolling in the program on July 9, 2024, his company obtained several key assets, including a 2008 Ford Ranger pickup truck, a Big Joe pallet jack, and a lowboy trailer.

These additions have expanded the services offered by Jordan Towing LLC. The pallet jack is now used for moving less-than-truckload items between docks, addressing a variety of customer needs. The lowboy trailer allows the company to transport larger and inoperable vehicles across Georgia, broadening its service area. The Ford Ranger serves as a support vehicle for daily operations such as maintenance and equipment hauling.

Jordan attributed recent business growth to the resources provided by the Surplus Property Program. “Participating in the Georgia DOAS Surplus Property Program has been instrumental in the growth and development of my small, Black-Veteran-owned business,” Jordan said. “Through the program, I’ve been able to acquire essential machinery that helps specialize and widen our operational capabilities.”

Jordan said he intends to continue working with the program to support his company's future development and strengthen its position in the industry.
