The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has temporarily closed its Los Banos office at 814 West L St. due to mold remediation. The DMV has not announced when the office will reopen.
During the closure, customers are directed to visit nearby DMV offices in Turlock, Merced, Hollister, and Gilroy. The Turlock office is located at 825 E. Monte Vista Ave., about 35 miles from Los Banos. The Merced office is at 1313 W. 12th St., approximately 38 miles away. The Hollister location, open only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, is at 80 N. Sally St., which is 44 miles from Los Banos. The Gilroy office can be found at 6984 Automall Parkway, Suite A, around 48 miles away.
The DMV recommends that most customers use online services instead of visiting an office in person. Many tasks, such as driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals for eligible individuals, can be completed through the DMV website at dmv.ca.gov using online tools like the Service Advisor.
Customers are also encouraged to sign up for paperless notifications for vehicle registration and driver’s license renewals by creating a secure account on the DMV website.
