Neil Alldredge President & CEO | National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies
The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) honored Art Meadows with its Chair Award at the association’s annual convention in San Diego on September 29, 2025. The award recognizes Meadows for his long-standing leadership and contributions to the mutual property/casualty insurance sector.
“We’re thrilled to present this award to Art,” said Neil Alldredge, president and CEO of NAMIC. “His relentless dedication to excellence, combined with his stellar leadership, has built a legacy that continues to shape both our industry and this association.”
Meadows began working in the mutual insurance field in 1984. He currently serves as president and CEO of Carolina Farmers Mutual and is also a board member for five other mutual companies. During his tenure as CEO of Panhandle Farmers Mutual, which lasted 17 years, he led the development of the BriteCore Platform. This system reduced operating expenses by 35 percent and increased policyholder surplus by 650 percent over five years. The platform has since been adopted by more than 100 mutual insurers across the United States.
Meadows has also contributed significantly to NAMIC through service on its board of directors from 2009 to 2012 and active participation in educational programs and networking events.
“Art has always been one of the strongest champions for mutuals across the country,” Alldredge added. “His influence made every board and organization he touched better. Those who’ve worked alongside him know his success came not only from his sharp vision and attention to detail, but also from his deep values and genuine kindness.”
In addition to honoring Meadows, NAMIC presented Service Awards to four other individuals for their contributions to both the association and the broader industry during its annual event.
NAMIC represents a broad range of insurers nationwide, including some of the largest national companies as well as regional and local mutual insurers. Its members write $383 billion in annual premiums, making up significant portions of key insurance markets: they account for 61 percent of homeowners insurance, 48 percent of automobile insurance, and 25 percent of business insurance in the United States.
