An earlier article from Insurify mistakenly reported that North Carolina drivers could see a 22.6% increase in car insurance rates, depending on the result of a hearing before Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey.

However, Commissioner Causey and the North Carolina Rate Bureau, which represents auto insurers in the state, reached an agreement for a 5% increase in June 2025. As a result of this settlement, the planned hearing was canceled.

Insurify issued an apology for the mistake.
