Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a series of bills into law, according to an announcement from his office on July 30, 2025. The newly enacted legislation covers a range of issues, including elections, transportation, education, public safety, health care, and employment.
The following Assembly Bills were signed:
- AB 17 by Assemblymember Juan Alanis (R-Modesto) addresses elections and precinct maps.
- AB 377 by Assemblymember David Tangipa (R-Clovis) pertains to the High-Speed Rail Authority's business plan for the Merced to Bakersfield segment. A signing message is available.
- AB 379 by Assemblymember Nick Schultz (D-Burbank) relates to crimes involving prostitution.
- AB 642 by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) concerns emergencies proclaimed by the Governor and catastrophic leave for school employees.
