Timothy G. NeCastro President and CEO | Erie Insurance
Erie Insurance has been ranked #323 on the 2025 Fortune 500 list, which evaluates America's largest corporations based on total revenue for the 2024 fiscal year. This marks a significant advancement for Erie Insurance, moving up 53 places from its previous position at #376.
Tim NeCastro, president and chief executive officer of Erie Insurance, expressed his sentiments about the achievement: "It’s an honor to be ranked on the Fortune 500 and exciting to be climbing this list of successful and well-respected companies," he said. He reflected on the company's history by stating, "When our founders opened the doors of Erie Insurance 100 years ago, I’m not sure they could have imagined that one day their company would be among the largest in the country. I am sure, however, that they would be proud of ERIE’s lasting success and unwavering dedication to service."
The Fortune 500 list ranks companies based on their total revenues for each fiscal year. To qualify for inclusion, companies must be incorporated in the U.S., operate within the country, and file financial statements with a government agency.
According to Fortune's announcement, this year's list is its 71st edition. The minimum revenue required to make it onto the 2025 list was $7.4 billion, reflecting a 4% increase from last year. Retailers, utilities, and insurance firms were prominent among those featured on the list.
This year also marks two decades since Erie Insurance first appeared on the Fortune 500 ranking.
