The State of Georgia's Safety Fire Commissioner has announced a hearing scheduled for June 4, 2025, to discuss proposed amendments to the Rules and Regulations of the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance. This notice follows the guidelines set by the Georgia Administrative Procedure Act.

The proposed changes include several updates and modifications aimed at aligning state regulations with current standards and improving efficiency. Among these are updates to the National Electrical Code under Rule 120-3-3-.04, which aim to bring regulations in line with those of the Department of Community Health.

Other significant amendments involve expanding and updating various rules to conform with Section 5 and Section 7 of 2024 Ga. SB 417. These include broadening definitions, removing duplicate plan submission requirements for digital submissions, incorporating reporting requirements for license holders, and updating fire safety standards.
