A residential fire in Crawfordville, Georgia, is currently under investigation following a tragic incident that resulted in two fatalities. The fire occurred on Greensboro Road and has prompted the involvement of multiple agencies.
State Fire Marshal's Office investigators were called to the scene on January 22 to assist with the inquiry. Upon their arrival, they noted significant fire damage throughout the property. Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King stated, "Two fatalities have been confirmed at this time; the victims have been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy and positive identification. The cause of the fire is being classified as undetermined, though no foul play is suspected at this time."
The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with several local authorities, including the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, Wilkes County Coroner’s Office, and Tyrone Fire Department.
