Influencer Candice Miller has sold her Hamptons mansion for $12.8 million, nearly $3 million below the initial asking price of $15,495,000. The property gained notoriety as the site where her husband, Brandon Miller, took his own life in July 2023.
The New York Times reported that Brandon had accumulated approximately $33.6 million in debt before his death. Following this revelation, Candice listed the house in August 2024. According to Gimme Shelter from the New York Post, the sale was expedited by the bank's desire to quickly close the deal despite multiple bids.
A broker noted that potential buyers were deterred by the property's association with Brandon's death. "I tried to show it, but a lot of people didn’t want to see it," said the broker.
Brandon purchased the home for $3.2 million in 2011 through an LLC and was found unresponsive inside his car on June 30 while his family was on vacation in Italy. He passed away on July 3 at a Southampton hospital after leaving a note indicating his intention to end his life.
In December, sources revealed further details about Brandon's financial troubles, including a loan he sought shortly before his death. A lender mentioned providing him with $208,000 which was repaid with interest from the mansion's sale proceeds.
The anonymous buyer acquired the property fully furnished and organized an auction of its contents, including art pieces and furniture designed by Julie Hillman. The auction offered "a unique opportunity to bid on eclectic and high-end items" from this "beautifully designed Hamptons home."
Following her husband's passing, Candice relocated to Miami with her children and resides in a $10 million apartment owned by Diane von Furstenberg’s son. Legal documents filed in New York list this Miami residence as part of her efforts to manage her late husband's debts.
