The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced the temporary closure of its San Bernardino Industry Business Center (IBC) for renovations. The office, located at 473 East Carnegie Drive, Suite 125, will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 27, and is expected to reopen at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

The renovations will include carpet replacement and new interior painting. IBCs cater to auto dealerships, vehicle registration businesses, and trucking companies. These centers do not offer services such as driver's license applications or renewals that are available in regular field offices.

The DMV plans to contact affected IBC customers with information on how they can continue processing transactions during the renovation period.

In an effort to streamline services and reduce the need for office visits, the DMV has expanded its digital offerings. Most tasks can be completed online without visiting an office. The DMV encourages customers to utilize its online services for tasks like eligible driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals. Additionally, the Service Advisor tool on the DMV website can help customers explore their options for completing various DMV-related tasks.

For those interested in receiving paperless vehicle registration and driver’s license renewal notices, the DMV advises creating a secure online account and registering at dmv.ca.gov.
