Billionaire Elon Musk's transgender daughter, Vivian Wilson, has expressed her intention to leave the United States following Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election. Vivian, estranged from Musk since 2022 after filing a petition to change her gender and legal name, announced her decision on Threads. She cited Trump's win as a decisive factor for wanting to move abroad.
"I've thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me," she wrote. "I don't see my future being in the United States."
Vivian took her mother Justine Wilson's surname after cutting ties with Musk, who is known for his criticism of gender-affirming healthcare and support of Trump’s campaign. Musk donated $75 million to a super PAC backing Trump.
The announcement comes amid reports that Musk purchased properties worth $35 million in Austin, Texas. The New York Times reported that he plans to create a family compound there. It is suggested this arrangement would allow his children and their mothers to live close by.
Musk has voiced concerns about declining birth rates in the U.S., claiming it poses a significant threat to civilization. He shares five children with his first wife Justine Wilson and three children each with Shivon Zilis and musician Grimes.
Grimes and Musk have been involved in a custody battle over their three children since 2023 but are reportedly considering purchasing property together in Bel-Air, California.
Despite these developments, Vivian remains firm in her decision not to reside at any of her father's proposed compounds. In previous posts on Threads, she criticized him harshly: "You single-handedly disillusioned me with how gullible we are as a species."
Musk responded earlier this year by calling Vivian a "communist" during an interview where he discussed his views on puberty blockers: "I lost my son, essentially... killed by the woke mind virus."
