Georgia Access is gearing up for the 2025 Open Enrollment period, offering over 15,000 certified agents to assist residents in selecting affordable health coverage. Cheryl Gardner, Executive Director of Georgia Access, emphasized the role of agents in providing localized help and a personalized customer experience. "Agents offer consumers localized help and a personalized customer experience," Gardner stated.

Consumers can preview health insurance plans starting October 28 at GeorgiaAccess.gov. Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King highlighted the importance of this feature: "Plan preview provides consumers an opportunity to browse and determine which plans best fit their wallets and individual needs before Open Enrollment begins."

From November 1, agents will shift from HealthCare.gov to Georgia Access or Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) partners for enrollment purposes. Agents must complete certification training to sell plans on Georgia Access.

The exchange offers various insurance plans, including Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), Stand-alone Dental Plans (SADPs), and Catastrophic Health Plans. It also allows consumers multiple pathways for enrollment through certified agents, EDE partners, or the consumer portal.

Coverage starts January 1, 2025, for those who enroll by December 16, 2024. For more details, visit GeorgiaAccess.gov or contact their center at 888-687-1503.

Georgia Access operates under the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire with a mission to provide access to essential insurance products and safe buildings through fair regulation.
