Barbara Lecker has joined the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) as vice president of corporate partnerships. The appointment reflects PIA’s strategy to grow its influence in the insurance industry and provide more value to its members and affiliates across the country.
Lecker brings experience from national associations, where she has developed partnership and sponsorship programs aimed at increasing revenue and advancing organizational missions. In her new position, she will lead PIA’s efforts to build relationships with companies, carriers, and solution providers within the independent insurance agent community.
“Barbara has an exceptional ability to identify where organizational goals and market opportunity intersect,” said Mike Skiados, CEO of PIA. “She knows how to connect organizations that want meaningful access to PIA’s community with opportunities that drive new business, new partnerships, and measurable wins for everyone involved. Her leadership strengthens our platform at a time when we’re investing heavily in growth, innovation, and member value.”
Previously, Lecker served as vice president of corporate partnerships at Finseca, a nonprofit organization representing financial professionals and insurers. She also held senior roles at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
At PIA, Lecker will work with affiliates, carriers, and partners to design collaborative models that support the association’s long-term goals: expanding membership; enhancing education through initiatives like the Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) designation; and strengthening advocacy for insurance agents.
“PIA has a strong voice, a trusted brand, and a growing national footprint,” Lecker said. “I’m excited to help build partnerships that create meaningful opportunities for members and industry partners.”
Founded in 1931, PIA is a national trade association representing independent insurance agents who specialize in various types of coverage including automobiles, homes, and businesses. The association works with affiliates nationwide to offer education, advocacy services, products, and other resources supporting independent agents’ success.
