Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that PBS Aerospace will establish its North American headquarters in Roswell, Georgia. The company plans to invest up to $20 million and create at least 95 new jobs in the metro Atlanta area.
Governor Kemp expressed enthusiasm about the decision, stating, “We are excited that PBS Aerospace has chosen to stay in Georgia to increase their footprint and establish their first R&D and headquarter facilities in the United States.” He emphasized the importance of aerospace as one of Georgia’s top industries.
PBS Aerospace, an international manufacturer of turbojet engines and auxiliary power units, has been active in the U.S. market for over a decade. Tomas Koutsky, Managing Director of PBS Aerospace, noted the advantages of Atlanta as a base for operations due to its education system, skilled workforce, infrastructure, and business environment.
CEO Erin Durham highlighted plans for a new factory in Roswell aimed at producing advanced small turbojet engines for the U.S. Department of Defense. She said this aligns with their growth strategy involving partnerships with Georgia’s manufacturing and aerospace sectors.
The company’s expansion includes renovating an existing building at 1350 North Meadow and constructing a new facility at Tech Village North Site in Roswell. Hiring is ongoing with full operations expected by April 2025.
Roswell Mayor Kurt Wilson welcomed PBS Aerospace’s decision to locate there, citing the city’s strengths such as schools and community spirit. Robb Pitts from Fulton County Board emphasized how this development strengthens the region’s position in advanced manufacturing and aerospace technology.
Katie Kirkpatrick from Metro Atlanta Chamber highlighted metro Atlanta’s role as a hub where talent meets opportunity, noting aerospace as Georgia’s leading export industry worth $57.5 billion.
Haley Casola from Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) led efforts on this project alongside partners like City of Roswell and Metro Atlanta Chamber. GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson praised PBS Aerospace’s choice to expand its presence in Georgia: “Today’s news is the result of investing in our relationships at home and internationally.”
