Guy Owen’s move to Florida from Maryland had him working hard to find a homeowners policy for the house he will occupy at the end of the month, but in the end, his chosen carrier gave him five-star service.

“I am new to Florida. Just moved here two weeks ago from Maryland,” Owen said in his Trustpilot review. “I spent the past two weeks getting quotes from every insurance company I could find that would write a policy in Florida – many do NOT.”

Kin agent John Lynch helped the company earn its five stars with the service he provided, Owen said. The quote Lynch provided stayed constant, Owen told Trustpilot. He also answered every question asked and got back to him quickly. Lynch didn’t speak negatively of other companies and offered the lowest price for the insurance.

“He had one of the highest valuations for my home value (rebuilding costs), personal property and liability,” Owen told Trustpilot.

The “big name” insurance companies had Owen jumping back and forth checking their policies. He said most were not underwriting their own policy and had bad reputations or negative reports.

Kin’s quote was a third the cost of some companies, he said.

“The tactic that really upset me was companies not quoting what I asked for: namely, replacement costs, not actual cash value,” Owen said in his Trustpilot review.

Owen’s only negative comment was that Kin had yet to write scheduled property riders and the cost for partial damage in sinkhole coverage was a 50% premium over the homeowners quote, so he declined it.
