MetLife Pet Insurance has announced a new partnership with The Animal Foundation, an animal welfare organization in Las Vegas. As part of this collaboration, MetLife will provide 30 days of pet insurance coverage to every person who adopts a pet from The Animal Foundation.

Brian Jorgensen, CEO of MetLife Pet Insurance, said, “We’re proud to join forces with The Animal Foundation, an organization that shares our deep commitment to animal welfare. This collaboration builds on our work with more than 100 shelters nationwide and reflects our mission to empower pet parents. Together, we’re helping more families protect the health and happiness of their beloved pets.”

The Animal Foundation is among the largest single-site animal shelters in the United States. In 2024, it saved over 20,000 animals and facilitated more than 10,000 adoptions while providing medical care for animals in need. The new partnership aims to ensure that pets adopted through the foundation have protection against unexpected health issues and that adopters can benefit from financial security.

MetLife Pet Insurance offers plans that can be tailored by pet owners according to their needs. Coverage includes preventive care such as flea and tick control, vaccinations, dental cleanings, as well as unexpected visits for accidents or illnesses. Customers can select deductibles, annual benefit limits, and reimbursement percentages based on their preferences. A mobile app is available for policy management, claim tracking, and access to a live 24/7 veterinary chat.

Daryl Sprague, Chief of Development and Marketing Director at The Animal Foundation stated: “We’re thrilled to work with MetLife Pet Insurance to support new pet families at a time when shelters like ours are facing unprecedented capacity challenges. This collaboration allows us to equip adopters with an essential resource—pet insurance—that will help them confidently welcome a new furry family member and provide the care their pet deserves. It’s a win for the pets, the families, and the broader community.”
