MetLife Investment Management announced on April 2 that Andrea Drasites will become the global head of Real Estate and Agricultural Finance, effective October 1. Drasites will report to Brian Funk, president of MetLife Investment Management.
The appointment comes as MetLife Investment Management seeks to build on its recent growth and expand its global capabilities for clients following the acquisition of PineBridge Investments. The company’s real estate portfolio totaled $108.9 billion in gross real estate and agricultural assets under management as of December 31, 2025.
Funk said, “We are excited to bring on board Andrea’s significant expertise in real estate and extensive leadership experience. She is well positioned to lead our real estate team as we continue to accelerate growth and further scale our global capabilities for clients following the acquisition of PineBridge Investments.”
Drasites previously worked at Blackstone for thirteen years, most recently serving as senior managing director in the Real Estate Group. Before joining Blackstone, she held senior roles at Equity One, Inc. and Woolbright Development. “I’m thrilled to be joining MIM at such a pivotal moment and look forward to working with the team to build on the platform’s success and leverage the firm’s scale to drive even more opportunities for clients worldwide,” said Drasites.
She succeeds Robert Merck, who retired in 2025 after a forty-year career with MetLife Investment Management.
In December 2025, MetLife Investment Management acquired PineBridge Investments. This transaction combined institutional strength with a broader global footprint, positioning MetLife Investment Management as a top-tier diversified asset manager with $741.7 billion in total assets under management by year-end.
