Governor Brian P. Kemp announced the appointment of three individuals to key judicial positions in Georgia. Elizabeth W. Torres has been named Solicitor General of Worth County, replacing the Honorable James “Jay” E. Crowe, Jr., who was appointed as State Court Judge of Worth County. Chaundra Lewis will serve on the Superior Court of the Flint Judicial Circuit, filling a vacancy left by the resignation of the Honorable Brian J. Amero. James Boles is appointed to the State Court of Henry County, succeeding Chaundra Lewis.

Elizabeth W. Torres is a partner at Wilmot & Torres and serves as solicitor for Tifton and Lenox cities. After graduating from law school, she worked in commercial litigation in Atlanta before returning to Tifton to practice law in various fields including family law and probate court matters.

Torres earned her Bachelor’s degree in political science and her law degree from the University of Georgia, where she was a Richard B. Russell Distinguished Law Fellow. She resides with her husband and two children in Tift County.

Chaundra Lewis currently serves as a Henry County State Court Judge and presides over the county’s DUI/Drug Court Program. Her previous roles include deputy chief assistant in both Fulton and Clayton Counties’ solicitor general offices and civil litigator in private practice.

Judge Lewis is active in community service through organizations such as Gigi’s House and Miracle Mission International Outreach, Inc., and is affiliated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., among others. She holds an English degree from Spelman College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphries School of Law.

James D. Boles, Jr., managing partner at Sexton & Moody, P.C., previously operated his own law office after graduating from John Marshall Law School in 2016. He was involved with various legal societies during his studies.

Boles resides with his wife Leslie in Henry County, where he contributes as a coach for Stockbridge High School’s Mock Trial Team.
