Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced the appointment of Inez Grant as the new Solicitor General for Hall County. Grant fills the position left vacant by the resignation of Stephanie Woodard.
Inez Grant is no stranger to Hall County. She has been part of the State Bar of Georgia since 1992, starting her legal journey as a prosecutor in the Hall County Solicitor General’s Office. Notably, she helped create Hall County’s Domestic Violence Taskforce. Her career saw her rise to the role of chief assistant under former Solicitor General Jerry Rylee and later as chief assistant Solicitor General in Forsyth County. Grant has 17 years of combined experience in handling both felony and misdemeanor prosecutions.
After leaving full-time prosecution for family reasons, Grant shifted to private practice in Hall County. Her law practice covers domestic litigation, criminal defense, immigration law, Guardian Ad Litem work, and Juvenile Court cases. Simultaneously, she serves as the Solicitor for the City Courts of Gainesville and Oakwood.
Grant is an alumna of Brenau University and graduated from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. In addition to her legal work, she has contributed to her community by coaching high school mock trial teams and was commended by the State Bar for her involvement with the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Grant also contributes her expertise as a member of Brenau University’s Conflict Resolution and Legal Studies Advisory Board.
