InsureTech Connect has announced it will host a fireside chat on October 16, 2025, featuring Kin CEO Sean Harper and Jay Rajendra, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Arch Capital. The discussion will focus on adapting insurance for a changing climate.

According to InsureTech Connect, against the backdrop of rising catastrophe frequency and mounting insured losses, ITC Vegas 2025 is emphasizing practical resilience tactics for carriers and reinsurers. The “Beyond the Storm” session will place a full-stack insurer alongside a reinsurance voice to explore real-time climate data, remote property intelligence, and predictive analytics for underwriting, pricing, and claims. Scheduled during the Property, Motor & Travel track, the discussion aligns with ITC’s focus on technology-enabled service models that aim to speed support and improve customer outcomes during severe-weather events across the U.S. and globally.

InsureTech Connect reported that the “Beyond the Storm” fireside chat is slated for Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 11:50 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. PT—a 20-minute session within the Property, Motor & Travel track. The format will feature Kin CEO Sean Harper and Jay Rajendra, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Arch Capital, providing dual perspectives on climate adaptation across primary and reinsurance markets and how analytics can enhance underwriting and claims triage at scale.

Global insured catastrophe losses reached approximately USD 137 billion in 2024. According to the Swiss Re Institute’s projections, losses are trending toward roughly USD 145 billion in 2025. These figures underscore why carriers are seeking better climate data, exposure management, and service automation. This multi-year pattern of over USD 100 billion annual insured losses has become “the norm,” reinforcing the need for tech-enabled resilience and reinsurance capital efficiency.
