Governor Newsom to unveil new wildfire prevention plan targeting federal lands

As California faces the peak of its fire season, Governor Gavin Newsom is set to announce a new wildfire prevention strategy. This initiative will focus on federal lands, which constitute over half of the forest areas in the state.

The announcement is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, at approximately 10 a.m. It will be available for viewing through several online platforms including the Governor’s Twitter page, Facebook page, and YouTube page. Additionally, TV stations can access the event via the LiveU Matrix under “California Governor.”

The press event will be held in person and is open exclusively to credentialed media representatives. Interested media must RSVP by 8 a.m. on July 1 to receive location details upon confirmation.

This development comes as part of ongoing efforts to mitigate wildfire risks across California.
