SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom announced today that he has signed several bills into law. The newly signed legislation includes:

– AB 1853 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) – San Joaquin Regional Transit District: meetings: surplus money investments.
– AB 1879 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) – Property taxation: filing.
– AB 1940 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) – Alcoholic beverages: beer returns.
– AB 1953 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) – Vehicles: weight limits.
– AB 1994 by the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs – Veterans: Department of Veterans Affairs.
– AB 2067 by Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) – Financial institutions: service of process.
– AB 2231 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) – Pawnbrokers: education.
– AB 2873 by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) – Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative: grants.
– AB 3168 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) – Department of Motor Vehicles: confidential records.
– AB 3278 by the Committee on Transportation – Transportation: omnibus bill.

Governor Newsom also announced his veto of SB 1432, authored by Senator Anna Caballero (D-Merced), which pertains to seismic standards for health facilities. A veto message regarding this decision can be found online.
