Governor Gavin Newsom has signed two pieces of legislation as part of the Budget Act of 2024. These bills, SBX1-1 and SBX1-2, were introduced by Senator Scott Wiener from San Francisco.

The newly signed legislation provides legal resources to the California Department of Justice and various state agencies. It also enhances funding for legal services aimed at supporting veterans, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups within California.
