Governor Gavin Newsom has issued an emergency proclamation for Santa Cruz County to aid in recovery efforts following the December 2024 winter storm. The storm caused significant damage, including the partial collapse of Santa Cruz’s municipal wharf.

The proclamation enables the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services to offer assistance to Santa Cruz under the California Disaster Assistance Act, along with other provisions.
