Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a series of appointments to various boards across California. These positions, which do not require Senate confirmation, come with varying compensation and responsibilities.

Bhavana Prakash from San Jose has been appointed to the Physician Assistant Board. Prakash holds multiple degrees in medical science and has been involved with Stanford Children’s Health since 2024. She is also a member of the American Congenital Heart Association.

Joanne Pacheco from Fresno will join the Dental Hygiene Board of California. With extensive experience as Director of the Dental Hygiene Program at Fresno City College, Pacheco is active in several dental associations and holds degrees in organizational behavior and development.

Mark Apostolon from Stockton has been named to the 2nd District Agricultural Association San Joaquin Fair Board. His background includes roles in strategic innovation and media production, along with participation in local chambers of commerce.

Kevin Alto from McKinleyville is set to serve on the 9th District Agricultural Association Redwood Acres Fair Board. Alto brings years of experience as President of Kevin Alto Equipment.

Norma Rojas-Mora from Bakersfield will be part of the 15th District Agricultural Association Kern County Fair Board. Her career spans roles in public relations and community college administration, complemented by her involvement in Hispanic leadership organizations.

Emily Schoeder from Dixon joins the 36th District Agricultural Association Dixon May Board. She currently works as a Legislative Assistant for the California Hospital Association and serves on a board supporting crisis nurseries.

Elizabeth Lincoln from Kelseyville has been appointed to the 49th District Agricultural Association Lake County Fair Board. As Economic Development Director for the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians, Lincoln’s background includes grant writing and environmental sciences.

These appointments reflect a diverse range of expertise across different sectors within California’s communities.
