Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a series of appointments across various state departments. Andrew “Tristan” Peery from Sacramento will serve as Senior Product Manager at the Office of Data and Innovation. Peery, who previously worked at the University of California, Davis, does not require Senate confirmation for this role, which offers a compensation of $150,348.

Ramank Bharti from Napa has been appointed Director of Risk Management and Project Controls at the California High-Speed Rail Authority. Bharti’s extensive experience includes multiple roles at ALSTOM Inc and other organizations. This position also does not require Senate confirmation and comes with a compensation package of $225,000.

Kevin Parzych from San Luis Obispo is set to become Chief of Primary Care Services at Atascadero State Hospital. Parzych brings years of medical leadership experience to the role, which offers a salary of $374,400 without requiring Senate confirmation.

Madelynn McClain from Sacramento will take on the role of Director of the Division of Administrative Services at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. McClain’s previous roles include positions within the Department itself and other state agencies. Her appointment requires Senate confirmation and includes compensation amounting to $208,440.

Raul Morales from Visalia has been named Warden at Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison after serving in an acting capacity since 2024. Morales’ long tenure in corrections spans several positions over two decades. His new role does not need Senate approval and offers a salary of $193,524.

These appointments reflect Governor Newsom’s continued efforts to fill key roles within California’s government infrastructure with experienced professionals.
