Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced 39 appointments and reappointments to various state boards, authorities, and commissions in Georgia.

Donald Dowless has been appointed to the Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission. He is currently the President of Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, where he also teaches Christian studies. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in religion from Baylor University.

Yusuf Jamal Ali was reappointed to the Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers. Jeffrey Hopp, who serves as Director of Sports Medicine at Marietta City Schools, was also appointed to this board.

Chad Baker, Jon Calabria, and Rebecca Kirk were reappointed to the Georgia Board of Landscape Architects.

Stan Stalnaker joins the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. Stalnaker is a Tift County Commissioner with extensive experience in law enforcement as a veteran of the Georgia State Patrol.

Melissa Cantrell and Anne K. Smith were reappointed to the Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers.

Mary McCartin Wearn will serve on the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council. She is currently President of Georgia Humanities and has an academic background in English and biomedical engineering.

Ibrahim Dabo, Paula Harmon, Anne McQuade, and Allison Morrison were reappointed to the Georgia Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Benjamin Vinson continues as Chairman of the State Board of Workers Compensation alongside Frank McKay who was also reappointed.

Scott Sweeney has been appointed to the State Charter School Commission. Sweeney brings experience from his tenure on various educational boards including Cobb County Board of Education.

Kathryn R. Epps remains on the State Board of Certification of Librarians with Catherine M. Lewis joining her. Lewis holds positions at Kennesaw State University and has curated numerous exhibits nationwide.

Shawn Fellows, Mills Flemming, Natalie Jones, and Chandra B. Yadav continue their roles on the Bona Fide Coin Operated Amusement Machine Operator Advisory Board.

Chuck Efstration, Houston Gaines, Emanuel Jones, and Brian Strickland remain on the Georgia Child Support Commission.

Marlon L. Day joins the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board bringing over two decades of experience in valuation analyses.

Steven Hufstetler and Brent Layton continue their service on the Board of Natural Resources while James Harley Langdale stays with the State Board of Registration for Foresters.

Robert Balkcom takes up his role on the Georgia Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Advisory Board as South Adjutant overseeing several operations within GSP units.

Jeff Andrews continues with North Georgia Mountains Authority along with Patrick Denney who serves as Chair since 2021.

Yi Jeng “Jay” Lin was reappointed to State Properties Commission; Gregory Keith Moffatt continues with Georgia Composite Board for Professional Counselors; Jack L. Kittle Jr., a retired water resource manager joins State Board for Professional Geologists; Darius “Pete” Peterson stays with Veterans Service Board; Timothy Williams remains with Private Detective & Security Agencies board.
