The Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, also known as the Big “I,” has expressed approval following the signing of Georgia Senate Bill 68 and Senate Bill 69 into law by Governor Brian Kemp. These bills form a comprehensive legal reform package designed to address issues within the state’s justice system.

Charles Symington, president and CEO of the Big “I,” said that these reforms represent a significant win for consumers, families, and employers in Georgia. He highlighted that the new laws aim to reduce frivolous lawsuits, lower litigation costs, improve judicial transparency, and alleviate unnecessary financial burdens on workers and businesses. Symington described SB 68 and SB 69 as essential measures against lawsuit abuse prevalent in various regions.

The organization praised Governor Kemp and legislative leaders for their efforts in passing this legislation. The Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia played a crucial role in supporting these reforms by forming a coalition with business and community groups.

Founded in 1896, the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America is the oldest national association representing over 25,000 agency locations under the Trusted Choice brand. They offer a wide range of insurance products from different companies.
