Delaware First Health and the Centene Foundation have announced the recipients of a $500,000 grant program designed to improve health outcomes in Delaware by addressing key community needs. The initiative targets local nonprofit organizations that focus on housing insecurity and transportation accessibility.
The selected organizations receiving funding include Family Promise of Northern New Castle County, Beebe Medical Foundation, and La Red Health Center. These groups serve high-need communities across the state.
“We believe that health starts in the community. By investing in organizations that are tackling housing and transportation challenges head-on, we’re helping build a stronger, healthier Delaware – one neighborhood at a time,” said Bill Wilson, plan president and CEO of Delaware First Health.
According to Delaware First Health, grants were awarded after a competitive application and review process. More details about the program can be found at https://www.delawarefirsthealth.com/grants.
Delaware First Health is a managed care organization established in 2023 that provides services through Medicaid, Marketplace plans, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans.
