Governor Gavin Newsom expressed support for the Biden-Harris Administration’s newly announced national target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This target is part of the United States’ commitment to the Paris Agreement.

Newsom stated, “As we have for decades, California will do our part to cut pollution and clean our air – no matter who is in the White House.” He added that California is proud to join both red and blue states across the nation in efforts to cut pollution and future-proof the economy.

California is a founding member of the U.S. Climate Alliance, a bipartisan coalition consisting of 24 states. This coalition represents more than half of the American population and economy, aiming to achieve the new national targets set by the Biden-Harris Administration.
