Amica Mutual Insurance has announced that Michael “Evan” Sherer, the Managing Vice President of Sales and Client Services Branch Operations, has been recognized by Providence Business News in its “40 Under Forty” list for 2025. This accolade highlights young professionals who have achieved early career success and shown dedication to their communities.

Sherer, originally from Taos, New Mexico, holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and foreign affairs from Miami University in Ohio. He oversees Amica’s Branch and Customer Care Operations within the Sales and Client Services department.

Starting his career at Amica in June 2009 through the Future Leaders Program, Sherer has worked in various roles across five locations, including as SCS manager in Chicago. In 2017, he moved to the corporate office as a Jurisdictional Officer for Amica’s West region before taking on his current role in February 2022.

In his current capacity, Sherer leads a team of Jurisdictional Officers managing branch operations nationwide. He has developed training programs aimed at improving operational effectiveness and staff development, contributing to high performance standards within the industry. His collaboration with other divisions has been instrumental in enhancing the customer experience provided by Amica.

Outside of his professional work, Sherer is actively involved with the Meeting Street School in Providence, Rhode Island. As a board member and part of the Executive Committee, he contributes to strategic planning and financial oversight initiatives.

“I’m so grateful for the encouragement I’ve received from my colleagues, mentors and leadership at Amica,” says Sherer. “I also appreciate Amica’s support for my work with the Meeting Street School. I will continue to strive for excellence in both my commitment to Amica and its customers as well as to the community where I live and work.”

Sherer was honored alongside other “40 Under Forty” recipients during a ceremony held on July 17 at Aldrich Mansion in Warwick, Rhode Island.
