During the open enrollment period beginning November 1, Ambetter from WellCare of Kentucky will offer health insurance plans to residents in 108 counties across Kentucky for the 2026 plan year. The plans are available through kynect, Kentucky’s Health Insurance Marketplace, and are underwritten by WellCare Health Plans of Kentucky, Inc., a subsidiary of Centene Corporation.

Enrollment is open until January 15, 2026, with coverage starting January 1 for those who enroll by December 15.

Corey Ewing, Plan President and Chief Executive Officer of WellCare Health Plans of Kentucky, Inc., stated: “Health insurance remains a critical resource for all individuals, regardless of their circumstances, which is why it is important for us to extend our service to more people. As part of the nation’s No. 1 Marketplace insurer, Ambetter from WellCare of Kentucky offers peace of mind and reliable coverage to more communities in Kentucky.”

The insurance plans include coverage for essential health benefits such as preventive care, maternity and newborn services, pediatric care, mental health support, hospitalizations, and prescription drugs. Some options also provide dental and vision coverage.

For 2026, certain Ambetter Health Premier plans will feature additional support for members managing asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including lower out-of-pocket costs for specific medications and clinical services. Members may have access to $0 copays on preferred asthma/COPD medications and pulmonologist visits.

Residents can review plan options and enroll online using mobile devices. The platform allows users to save their progress during enrollment and receive reminders if needed.

Ambetter from WellCare of Kentucky also offers the My Health Pays program, where members can earn up to $500 in rewards by participating in healthy activities throughout the year. These rewards can be used toward premiums or other eligible healthcare expenses.

Members have access to Virtual 24/7 Care through telehealth services for common illnesses without leaving home.
